The world is slowly waking up to understand the criticality of women's inclusion in the workforce. Women's inclusion is not only the ethically right thing to aspire for, but it also makes business sense. Several reports and studies have shown how having women in the workforce and leadership roles brings business advantages. Countries and organizations globally are now rendering some emphasis to promoting women's inclusion. Take for instance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Community Vision 2025 of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which counts Gender equality and women's empowerment as its top priority. Their vision is to build a region that is inclusive and sustainable. Looking at China specifically, there has been an increase in women's workforce participation. However, this number does to translate to the executive level in Chinese corporate world.Women in China have equal access to education and job opportunities. Women also reach mid-level management positions at fairly the same level as women in other progressive countries. That is when their careers face challenges. According to reports, women make up only 19 percent of executives in China.This makes the existing women leaders and their journeys even more noteworthy.
