Due to age-old cultural and systemic biases, the concept of leadership has been associated with men, shaped by traditional power structures that favours male-counterparts. However, things have evolved over time, sparking a paradigm shift with a focus on gender balance in leadership positions. The society and business world has woken up to the need for gender balance which in turn has highlighted unique perspective that women bring to leadership roles.
Additionally, the global rate of changes regarding gender parity in senior leadership positions continues to remain slow. It is thus important for the world to work towards empowering women leaders. The need is for supportive structures in the corporate world and in everyday life that can help women in building long lasting and fruitful careers.
GWL magazine endeavours to highlight issues that matter to women leaders across the globe and share stories of inspirational women leaders. Hearing their stories of success helps provide aspiring women leaders the blueprint to build successful careers themselves.
