Coming from a close-knit Mexican family, I developed a strong foundation based on the principles of unity, perseverance, and resilience that echoed in my family. My belief in education as a versatile asset, combined with the importance of knowledge, discipline, and hard-work, has been key to my personal and professional growth.

Gaining exposure to diverse and dynamic cultures greatly broadened my perspective. Studying at a boarding school in Canada, participating in exchange programs across Europe, and later pursuing a master’s degree at UC Berkeley, pushed me beyond my comfort zone and expanded my worldview. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of different ways of thinking but also strengthened my adaptability and global outlook.

My involvement in sports has also played a pivotal role in my personal growth, helping me develop adaptability, discipline and resilience from an early age. On a broader scale, these opportunities, made possible through the constant encouragement and support of my parents, fostered not just growth but important life skills. On a broader scale, these experiences have enabled me to think critically, question assumptions, and adopt a more comprehensive approach to problem-solving.

What motivated your foray into the field of law and eventually co-found Rubio & Asociados?

With a background rooted in a family of legal professionals, I developed a deep appreciation for legal practice early on. My legal education has been a fundamental driver to my career, reinforcing my belief that law extends beyond compliance as it serves as an instrument to resolve challenges and foster innovation.

An analytical mindset and strong passion for negotiation naturally led me to view law as a key enabler in crafting innovative and pragmatic solutions in diverse business environments.

Recognizing an evolving market need, Rubio & Asociados was founded to address the increasing need for sophisticated and holistic wealth management and estate planning strategies in Mexico. Specializing in high-level financial planning, my professional journey has been shaped by extensive experience in wealth management and international structuring. Applying a results driven approach, I have contributed to sustainable growth for individuals, families and business owners.

My background includes working in leading international law firms in Mexico, where I advised high-net worth individuals, corporations, and family offices. My role as in-house counsel for one of Mexico’s first venture capital funds provided hands-on experience in corporate governance and fund formation.

Over the years, I have tackled challenges that have refined my leadership and strategic mindset. Whether balancing executive responsibilities with motherhood, or thriving in a male-dominated competitive world, I strive to embrace each experience as an opportunity to grow. Pushing my boundaries and leading with perseverance has led me to carve a meaningful niche for myself.

Effective leadership, to me, is about making strategic choices with time and priorities, rather than striving to do everything flawlessly. I am committed to fostering a results-driven environment, where success is aligned with personal well-being, enabling both individual and professional fulfilment.

I believe the essence of success lies in the lasting impact that you leave, which comes from embracing change and challenges. It’s often by stepping beyond familiar boundaries and comfort zones that one is able to generate meaningful and transformative outcomes.

Success, both in business and life, is a result of purposeful choices, and not merely hard work. The transition from traditional legal services to more innovative and client-centred solutions has been both agile and effective.
