  • The opening of the Expressions of Interest call for the Renewed Women's Voice and Leadership Project
  • This project will run from 2025-2029 and will work to improve gender equality and human rights

ActionAid Nigeria invites qualified Women’s Rights Networks and Movements to submit an Expression of Interest to be part of the newly re-initiated Women's Voice & Leadership Program from 2025-2029, funded by Global Affairs Canada.

The Renewed Women's Voice & Leadership Program will provide financial and technical assistance towards the development of a strong women’s movement in Nigeria that promotes gender equality and women’s human rights.

The amount of N12 million for each calendar year will be available for a long-term relationship between ActionAid Nigeria and eligible Women’s Rights Networks and Movements, as opposed to a one-time grant.

The Renewed Women's Voice & Leadership Program is designed to support African Women’s Rights Networks and Movements through the development of capacity and programming.

Programs that support the exploration of intersectionality and several types of exclusionary issues are also encouraged.

To be eligible, networks or movements must be based in any one of the states of Nigeria (regardless of their location), to be able to work and have a presence throughout all 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Networks or movements need to operate at the national level, and affect policy at the national level.

The initiative is designed to address the increasing restrictive and complicated environments for organisations working for women’s rights in Nigeria by providing long-term support for the development of their infrastructure and generating a greater collective impact through collaboration.
