Anubha Sahasrabuddhe has been appointed as the future Chief Executive Officer of Lion, a brewing business. The appointment follows the company's decision to create a single Lion ANZ business, which will consolidate its Australian and New Zealand businesses under one leadership group.
Anubha, appointed to Lion in 2021, was previously Chief Growth and Commercial Officer. She will be the company's first female CEO. Prior to Lion, she held executive positions at Coca-Cola, M&M's, Toohey's, and XXXX.
The company stated the new organizational structure is set up to build its market position, invest more in its brands, and accelerate digital transformation, supply chain enhancements, and product innovation.
Speaking in a statement, Anubha stated Lion ANZ would leverage the firm's 180-year history and momentum to extend its beer brands and drive growth throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Lion has been a gender equality employer of choice and, in 2021, implemented a paid parental leave policy that entitles employees to 18 weeks of cover, including six weeks of superannuation on unpaid leave. Anubha is to take over as CEO on 1 October 2025.
