Battlefords Chamber to Host 'Celebration of Women in Business'

The Battlefords and District Chamber of Commerce is putting together a special event called A Celebration of Women in Business. This is a way to recognize the women in the local business community.

The event will occur on March 6 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in North Battleford at The Chapel Gallery. Tickets can be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce office.

Artist Michele Rogers from the Battlefords area will be the keynote speaker. She has created several works of art and has owned multiple small businesses. According to Linda Machniak, COO of the Chamber, Rogers' various experiences will provide valuable insight.

March 8 is International Women's Day, so the luncheon will honor all women's contributions to the Battlefords area through their businesses.

Linda added there are a lot of women in the local business community, both as owners and managers, contributing significantly to the regional economy.

Typically, the Holly and Heels event is held in December to identify Women in Business; however, the Celebration of Women in Business replaced it as the Chamber re-scheduled the event to the New Year.
