An agreement on cooperation and a roadmap were signed in Minsk between the Belarusian Women’s Union and the Rostov Oblast branch of the Union of Women of Russia.
The signing took place at the new House of the Belarusian Women’s Union. Chairperson Olga Shpilevskaya noted that this is the first collaboration between the two organizations, with a wide range of joint initiatives outlined in the agreement.
The document was signed by Olga and Tatyana Onopriyenko, a representative of the Rostov branch and head of its Rodionovo-Nesvetayskaya district section.
Entrepreneurship was included among the priorities of their work. Both parties shared business projects, underlining the significance of supporting women's entrepreneurship. Olga underlined that such cooperation reinforces professional ties and strengthens economic relations.
Besides, much attention was given to cultural cooperation at the meeting. The guests visited an exhibition of folk crafts and a concert of Belarusian performers, and both sides expressed their intention for active cultural exchanges in the future.
According to Olga, all these actions will make it possible to know and appreciate the cultural heritage more.
The meetings also touched upon education, tourism, healthcare, and social development. According to Olga, women's health is the foundation of public health in general; that is why this theme has been and will be relevant for Belarus and Russia.
Tatyana underscored the significance of such cooperation for the development of family, motherhood, and childhood programs.
She suggested implementing “twin schools” between Belarus and Rostov Oblast to allow early cross-cultural friendships and the expansion of children’s outlook with exchange visits.
Olga concluded by saying that she looked forward to more such meetings in the future, which would bring about tangible results.
