BGF Appoints Anita Dougall as Non-Executive Director

• Anita Dougall has been appointed as a non-executive director to BGF

BGF, the most active growth capital investor in the UK, has appointed Anita Dougall as a non-executive director, bringing entrepreneurial and data-led expertise to its board.

Anita is the CEO and cofounder of Sagacity Solutions, the data intelligence company for consumer brands that she founded in 2005.

With over 20 years of experience in building and scaling high-growth businesses, she also spent time in investment banking at NatWest Markets and in senior leadership roles at One2One, now known as EE.

Her appointment is in line with BGF's priorities of reinforcing entrepreneurial leadership at board level and comes after the appointment of Rosaleen Blair CME as a non-executive director in 2024.

In 2025 Dougall and Sagacity were ranked in second position in The Independent E2E Forum’s list of the UK’s fastest-growing female-led businesses.

Speaking on her appointment, Anita stated: ‘Her experience in growing a data-driven business had underlined for her one very important thing: you need investment, operating expertise, and great partnerships to maximize value.

One thing she finds so appealing about being with BGF is they not only invests in companies but they can also help with creating value in those companies. That is important, because a lot of entrepreneurs need scaling.’

Anita’s appointment takes place during a time when BGF is very actively working on digital transformation and AI innovation in their portfolio of over 350 companies.

The hiring is also in line with a recent commitment by BGF to invest in high-potential companies in the UK to the tune of £3 billion over a five-year period, with £300 million dedicated to companies led by females.
