According to the CaixaBank Strategic Plan, the bank's goal is to have 45 percent of management positions held by women by 2027. As of December 31, 2025, CaixaBank has made significant progress toward this target, with 44 percent of management positions filled by women.
CaixaBank is still committed to fostering equal opportunity and increasing the number of women in executive positions.
Women currently comprise 57.3 percent of the bank's total workforce, 40 percent of the bank's Board of Directors, and 51 percent of the management positions at the bank's Store branches, while 53.8 percent of new hires in management last year were female.
The culture promotes diversity, meritocracy, and equal opportunity, while also recognizing talent. The bank's goal is to create an exemplary work environment for its employees through inclusion in the workplace and community.
As part of the celebration of International Women's Day, CaixaBank will be highlighting a number of its corporate properties throughout Spain with purple lighting.
The week will also include internal and external activities that will focus on the significance of diversity and equality in the business world and society in general.
CaixaBank has also made significant changes to its External Diversity Advisory Committee in order to provide new insights and expertise.
The updated committee includes important figures in the field, such as Ramón Bernat, co-founder of Specialisterne, Óscar Muñoz, co-director of the Business Network for LGBTI Diversity and Inclusion (REDI), and María Ángeles Quesada, CEO of Equánima, among many others.
The External Diversity Advisory Committee was set up in 2022 and is responsible for providing advice to CaixaBank’s Management Committee and the Diversity Committee with regard to issues linked to diversity and inclusion.
The company-wide diversity program, also known as the Wengage diversity program, is a program developed by CaixaBank employees from various departments within the company.
The program is based on equal opportunity and meritocracy, addressing various aspects of diversity, including gender, generational, cultural, and LGBTI diversity, as well as the inclusion of people with disabilities.
