McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. welcomes construction industry veteran and seasoned female executive Cathy Orquiola as Regional CEO, where she brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the construction space in relation to complex construction operations, market expansion, team development and leadership. Her appointment is another milestone in women's representation among construction leaders, as seasoned women executives are increasingly filling influential positions in key industry verticals.
As executive sponsor, Cathy will collaborate with regional and national leaders to improve collaboration, exchange best practices and promote operational excellence for the organization. She will also bring her wide-ranging expertise in the data center and mission-critical construction industry to bear as a strategic leader in this burgeoning market.
Cathy will be added to the company's executive committee and report to Chairman and CEO Ray Sedey. Her career experience encompasses a wide range of construction disciplines, including concrete, civil, electrical and steel work, and numerous project delivery models, such as public-private partnerships and design-build.

Prior to her new role, Cathy was Western Regional President and board member at PCL Construction Services, managing offices in Arizona, California, Hawaii and Washington. She has spent many years developing highly productive teams and leading complex projects, driving business development in a variety of markets.
She has developed her leadership path through a blend of technical skills, strategic vision, operational efficiency, and talent management. Her expertise in various aspects of construction has helped her gain a comprehensive perspective that allows her to play a key role in driving the future of women in the construction sector.
