du Signs MoU with Abu Dhabi Business Women Council to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

In an attempt to support the vision of Abu Dhabi Government in empowering women, e& Enterprise, one of the fastest growing telecom and digital services operators in the UAE, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Business Women Council (ADBWC) in Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.

This agreement is expected to enhance women entrepreneurship growth, inclusive growth and assistance to enterprises owned by women in Abu Dhabi. Under this cooperation, the women business owners within the ADBWC will be able to receive special offers and services tailor-made to the SMEs.

It is the target of the program to empower female entrepreneurs and boost their business operations by removing barriers created by technology and enhance their operations efficiency and provide access to the advanced telecommunication services of du including mobile and fixed, as well as office wireless services.

Such support will enable the members to automate their activities and gain a competitive edge in the market, establishing a template of how to enhance entrepreneurial activities and improve the participation of women in economic activity of the UAE in the telecommunication sector.

Noora Al Tamimi, Board Member of ADBWC, was quoted saying that the “Council exists to provide the ecosystem where women entrepreneurs can convert ambition into long-term impact.

She noted that the partnership with du gives women-owned businesses access to the digital know-how and tools necessary to compete in today-s economy and shared their mutual vision to place women at the core of innovation, sustainable growth, and future economic profile of the UAE”.

According to Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, it is the first initiative of du in term of SME segment in Abu Dhabi.

He emphasized the role that women entrepreneurs play in the development of the economy and said the joint cooperation will open new avenues of growth and innovation, close technology, and gap, and assist the women-led SMEs to expand across the developing world and empower them to propel sustainable developments in the business world of Abu Dhabi.
