Elea Data Centers is a Brazilian sustainable data center platform and the first to deploy artificial intelligence at scale in Latin America. The company has named Elena Winters as Vice President of International Business.
She brings more than 15 years of experience in data center expansion and site selection, previously from Meta, Microsoft, and Oracle Cloud, contributing to the design and deployment of large-scale computing facilities across the Americas.
She will drive Elea's international expansion and further develop relationships with major US hyperscalers in her new role.
She will report to Alessandro Lombardi, Chairman and Founder of Elea. According to Lombardi, her experience, combined with an excellent fit with the values at Elea, will contribute to Elea's plans, as Brazil is shaping up to be one of the main hubs for AI infrastructure.
Originally from California and now located in Seattle, Elena founded and manages the International Women's Technology Forum, a global network that encourages women's participation in technology sectors.
Throughout her career, Elena has been an advocate for mentoring, equity and diversity in the field, and has been active in developing these concepts as part of her work.
Winters stated that she sees the work of Elea and its initiatives, including the Rio AI City initiative as an important opportunity to advance AI-related infrastructure within South America, but that Elea's global expansion is where the focus will be for establishing sustainable growth and an inclusive technology environment.
