The Federal Government of Nigeria has created a platform called 'Happy Woman' to reduce the digital divide and improve national productivity among women and men by taking steps to create a competitive advantage in all industries through collaboration.
The platform has been launched at the Delborough Hotel, in celebration of International Women's Day - "Women Empowering Women, Changing the Economy" by the Federal Minister of Women and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
The new e-Government platform will allow for the creation of a well-rounded skill-building set of programs and services for women that will provide access to markets and increase their financial inclusion rate.
This event was attended by individuals who represented both the public and private sectors, showing that there was institutional backing towards this platform.
Some of the people present at the event included legislators, heads of the financial sector, executives in FMCG and oil and gas companies, as well as individuals from business organizations like WIMBIZ and Bank of Industry.
The platform has been developed as a private sector driven and government supported one meant to surpass the traditional methods of trainings into those aimed at creating economic success.
From the words of the minister, it was clear that this project was meant to adopt a more systematic approach to measuring the impacts of government initiatives aimed at empowering women.
