After completing a six-month programme for business growth to boost women's innovation and entrepreneurship, five women-led tech businesses from Ghana received grant capital of GH¢125,500.

The awards were given by the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) following the graduation of the fifth cohort of Futuremakers Women in Tech on 15 October 2025.

Futuremakers Women in Tech is a program that has been put together by Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, Ashesi University's GCIC, and Village Capital.

In the statement, 10 women entrepreneurs who had gone through the program pitched their ventures to a panel of judges from the technology industry, showcasing digital products that solve both domestic and international problems. The five startups that received the grants are Wobil Technologies Ltd, GoGo Plus, WaxFarm, AgriEase, and Lbh Farm.

"Empowering women entrepreneurs is one of the ways we can create a more resilient and innovative economy," said Mansa Nettey, Chief Executive, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Plc. "The finalists have shown incredible grit, creativity and confidence, and their innovations have been vice solutions and a beacon of potential for others."

Anne Sackey, Marketing and Communications Director at GCIC, explained that the program enables women entrepreneurs to leverage technology in coming up with innovative solutions for the most pressing problems in their daily lives.

The event was also attended by investors, leaders in the ecosystem, alumni, and partners, and featured a keynote presentation by Dr Amanobea Boateng, International Gender Consultant and Women's DNA Fund founder.

The group of alumni was also established at this event, to continue mentorship, guidance, and connectivity for past and present participants.

Futuremakers Women in Tech works to close the gender gap in Ghana's business and technology fields, so women have the skills, confidence, and connections to create sustainable businesses.
