President John Mahama has nominated Florence Adei Ohene as Second Deputy Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (CBG) in a major move towards leadership in the financial sector in Ghana. With more than 25 years of experience in local and foreign banking, Adei Ohene brings depth of experience and strategic perspective to the position.
She comes on board with an executive group featuring Managing Director Dr. Naomi Kwetey and Deputy Managing Director Sheila Azuntaba, bringing depth and synergy to the leadership of the bank as it carries out its vision of bringing superior value to customers.
Prior to joining as a commissioner, Florence was responsible for CBG's International and Diaspora Business, where she successfully led engagement efforts that resulted in the bank increasing its outreach. She has gained her reputation for innovation and best practice from a career involving senior roles at uniBank in Ghana and the top U.S. institutions such as JP Morgan Chase, PNC Bank, and SunTrust Bank.
Her areas of professional experience are Wealth and Investment Management, Corporate Banking, Strategy, Project Management, and Business Transformation. She has an MBA from Georgetown University and dual degrees from UCLA and graduated Cum Laude.
Apart from her banking qualification, Florence is a vocal promoter of women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion, especially for businesses owned by women. Her appointment is perceived as a forceful shot in the arm to CBG's objective of making transformative and inclusive banking solutions available in Ghana.
