French Officials Visits DFWAC for Women, Child Welfare Talks

  • A delegation from the French Consulate visited the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children - DFWAC 
  • The intention of the visit was to familiarize themselves with what DFWAC does  
  • The discussions included the Foundation’s psychological, social and rehabilitation support programs 

 

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children received a delegation from the Consulate General of France in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.  

The visit aimed to learn about the Foundation’s framework for empowering women and children and its specialized programs in psychological, social, and rehabilitation support. 

The meeting was headed by Dr. Ghanima Al Bahri, Director of the Care and Rehabilitation Department, flanked by Ghaya Al Habtoor, Manager of Corporate Communication and Partnerships, and Roudha AlBahri, Activities Senior Officer, in the presence of several executive leaders. 

The French delegation was headed by H.E. Jean-Christophe Paris, Consul General of France in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and included representatives from the French Business Council Dubai & Northern Emirates, as well as those from organizations active in arts, education, design, and women's empowerment, including ESMOD Dubai – The French Fashion Institute, The Sorority Foundation, Féminin Pluriel – The Global Women’s Network, and Accor Group Hotels. 

During the occasion, the DFWAC provided an overview of its integrated service model for social care, psychological support, and empowerment initiatives focusing on reintegration, stability, and self-reliance.  

The presentation also highlighted other initiatives currently being implemented, namely, "Empowerment Programs," Smart Case Management System," and "Imprint Initiative," and awareness initiatives that include family cohesion, child welfare, and women's professional development. 

Dr. Ghanima Al Bahri stated that the strategy of the Foundation is holistic in combining humanitarian care with sustainable empowerment, on the principles of innovation, effective partnership, and organized effort towards the greater impact of social services development, enhancing the role of Dubai as a social and humanitarian development leader. 

The French delegation commended the role DFWAC as it is the first entity in the UAE to provide integrated services for women and children exposed to violence and abuse, in addition to the experience the UAE has demonstrated in social care and empowerment that has demonstrated positivity at a regional and international level.
