Jo Gaines Named Asana GM for APAC Region

Jo Gaines has been made General Manager for Asia Pacific at Asana. It is a big step for the work management platform's regional operations. As a head of the company, Jo will be responsible for ongoing senior team work on strategy, business growth acceleration in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), and development of partner-led initiatives in the region.

The appointment came after two and a half years with Asana, including 1 year as Head of Channel for APJ. She was instrumental in partnering with a wider ecosystem, establishing strategic alliances, strengthening the channel partner program, and driving partner learning and development.

Jo is seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in various industries such as technology, media, marketing, and digital transformation.

With her deep knowledge of digital innovation and technology consulting, Jo is capable of directing massive commercial teams with more than 300 workers. She has been applauded not only for achieving revenue increase through efficient forecasting processes but also for implementing customer centric operational strategies.

At CBS Interactive Australia, Jo has been the driving force behind creating and executing programmatic buying strategies that have been instrumental in the company's journey towards digital advertising.

At Asana, Jo has been a great advocate for enterprise collaboration and leveraging AI to transform workplaces. Her style of leadership is in line with the company's overall move to making artificial intelligence a part of tools that help with workplace productivity and team coordination. Recently, Asana has come out with features such as AI-assisted project execution through ChatGPT integrations and the introduction of AI teammates for collaborative work that help in improving organizational workflows.

Besides her business side, Jo is known to many as a highly dedicated leader who champions women's leadership and inclusion. She is the co-founder of Breaking Glass, a members-only organisation conceived as a supportive community for senior executive women through activities such as networking, mentoring, educational sessions, and job opportunities.
