President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received praise from the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) for his deliberate focus on youth development, gender equity, and inclusivity in national governance.
In particular, the Council praised his recent selections of prominent individuals to head important commissions and agencies, including Princess Atika Ajana Aliyu and Miss Usoro Akpabio, calling this a daring step to empower women and youth. The Council emphasized that these appointments are more than just token gestures in a statement signed by Princess Edna D.D. Azura, National President of the NCWS.
According to her, "these decisions are strategic, aimed at bringing Nigerian women's wealth of experience, competence, and leadership into the highest levels of national service and policy implementation." Azura referred to this as a major turning point in Nigeria's development toward sustainability.
She went on to say, "We see this as an important step toward sustainable development, reinforcing the crucial roles women and youth play in nation-building." She also commended President Tinubu's leadership for advancing a people-centered, inclusive, and progressive Nigeria.
"We sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his inclusive leadership on behalf of the entire Council and Nigerian women nationwide," she said. She also reaffirmed the Council's backing for the administration's programs and called for more collaboration to promote youth empowerment and gender equality.
Azura reaffirmed the Council's commitment to working with the government to accomplish these goals, saying, "We reaffirm our commitment to support his administration's efforts in building a progressive, inclusive, and people-centered Nigeria."
