Novartis Malaysia's LWLL Wins Regional Recognition for Women's Care

Novartis Malaysia’s Living Well Living Longer (LWLL), a breast cancer survivorship program, has received recognition from four regional industry award platforms in 2026 for its efforts to support women beyond diagnosis and treatment.

LWLL was developed in partnership with healthcare professionals, patient advocacy organizations and breast cancer survivors. The program includes the Living Well, Living Longer Coffee Table Book, the ICanCare app and Gift of Time patient workshops.

These initiatives provide women with health information, patient navigation and psychosocial support through a connected survivorship framework. The program focuses on helping Malaysian women manage life after breast cancer treatment.

Novartis Malaysia said the initiative was launched to address gaps in post-treatment care, including limited access to reliable information and psychosocial support. It aims to provide continued assistance as women adjust to life after treatment.

By bringing together educational resources, digital tools and community support, LWLL complements clinical care while addressing the practical and emotional challenges associated with breast cancer survivorship.

Since its launch, the ICanCare app has recorded more than 6,000 downloads, with more than 50 per cent of users actively engaging with the platform.

Demand for psychosocial support has increased by 250 per cent, while Gift of Time workshop bookings have risen 133 per cent year on year.

Sanjeev Balachandran, country president of Novartis Malaysia, Brunei and Asia emerging markets, said the initiative was developed in recognition that breast cancer's impact can extend beyond treatment, leaving women to face ongoing emotional, practical and informational challenges.

The recognition spans patient advocacy, healthcare communications and purpose-driven storytelling across four regional award programs, he said.

This reflects the range of work undertaken through the survivorship initiative and its collaboration with healthcare professionals, advocacy groups and patients.

The recognition highlights the growing importance of survivorship care in breast cancer treatment. By focusing on life after treatment, LWLL aims to help women regain confidence, access reliable information and receive continued emotional support.

Novartis Malaysia said the initiative will continue to evolve through collaboration with healthcare professionals, patient groups and survivors. These partnerships are expected to strengthen survivorship support and address the changing needs of women living beyond breast cancer.
