Orzigul Kozikhonova Represents Uzbekistan at International Youth & Women's Forum

• She addressed the "Women's Perspective" session of the 16th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum"

Orzigul Kozikhonova, the Chair of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Youth, Women, Culture, and Sports, took part in the "Women's Perspective" session of the 16th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum," held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.

The meeting brought together more than 300 delegates from 20 countries, including government institution women leaders, business, academia, and civil society. The areas of discussion included women leadership, economic empowerment, development of entrepreneurship, and enhancing international partnership.

There was sharing of experience and opinion in light of seizing new possibilities for advancing global partnership. During her speech, Senator Orzigul mentioned Uzbekistan's firm political will to protect the rights of women and give full play to their capabilities. She dwelled on national initiatives in support of women entrepreneurship and innovativeness, such as measures to raise the share of women in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and society.

During the forum, Orzigul also conducted a series of bilateral meetings with delegates from different countries with the objective of intensifying cooperation and exchange of best practices in intensifying women's activities in society.
