TECNO Launches CAMON SLIM 5G With Women-Focused Runway

TECNO launched the CAMON SLIM 5G in the Philippines through “MAKE IT LIGHTER: The Living Cover Runway,” bringing 15 Filipino women into focus through fashion, portraiture and personal stories about careers, motherhood, identity and everyday life.

The launch was not just a traditional smartphone showcase, as women across such diverse career paths and ages joined the runway. It featured entrepreneurs, working moms, businesswomen, techies, community builders, celebrities and creators, all sharing their views of how they manage to do it all.

The Living Cover Runway was built around the idea that every woman has a story of her own. Each participant was introduced by name and identity on an LED screen before walking the runway with the CAMON SLIM 5G. A short narration then highlighted her work, experiences and personal interpretation of what “making life lighter” means.

Among the women featured was Ely Halig, a solo working mother and advertising professional who is also a breadwinner and competitive padel player. Her story reflected the experience of women professional responsibilities while making space for motherhood and personal interests.

Twinkle Dimayuga, a solo mother and one of the people behind MAMA , Mothers Advocating through Ministry and Action brought attention to the role of community and support networks in women’s lives.

Runway was also graced by personalities Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena, Max Collins and Megan Young. Miss World 2013, actress, host Young led the final which showcased her journey through pageantry and entertainment.

Another main feature of the presentation was fashion. The hero colour of the CAMON SLIM 5G, Burgundy Red was featured in all 15 looks, and the styling was inspired by modern Filipiniana with structured silhouettes, fluid draping, pleats and translucent fabrics. Each look was adapted to reflect the personality and story of the woman wearing it.

The event also introduced TECNO’s collaboration with artist and photographer Angelica Dass, whose portrait work forms part of a broader exploration of women beyond labels such as profession, motherhood or social role. The Philippine chapter will focus on working women, particularly solo mothers, through the idea of diskarte, the adaptability and resourcefulness women use to navigate their lives.
