The United Arab Emirates has firmly positioned itself as one of the world’s leading hubs for investment and entrepreneurship, attracting over USD 45 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2024 and ranking 10th globally in FDI inflows, according to Dr. Shafeeqa Al Ameri, President of the Emirates Association for Women Entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the 28th Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Conference and Exhibition, organized by the Arab Businesswomen Investors Union in Cairo, Dr. Al Ameri credited the UAE’s success to its visionary leadership, investor-friendly legislation, and modern infrastructure that collectively bolster global confidence in the nation’s economic landscape.

She highlighted the national initiative “The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World”, a comprehensive campaign designed to train and incubate 10,000 entrepreneurs and create 30,000 new job opportunities over the next five years. The initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to youth empowerment and innovation-driven economic growth.

Dr. Al Ameri also emphasized the UAE’s model of economic diversification, with growing investments in cutting-edge sectors such as technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, real estate, and logistics services.

“The UAE continues to set benchmarks for sustainable growth through its dynamic vision, pro-business policies, and world-class infrastructure,” she affirmed, noting that the nation’s consistent top ranking in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) for four consecutive years reflects its thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and global competitiveness.
