Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ), a non-profit membership organization, hosted its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its head office in Lagos. The event, which was purely for Associates and Life Members, was a considerate and effective platform on which to review the progress of 2024 and to agree a common vision for the future.

The AGM convened important stakeholders, such as members of the Board of Trustees: Chairman Bisi Adeyemi; Members Olubunmi Aboderin-Talabi and Niyi Yusuf; Executive Director Omowunmi Akingbohungbe; Board Secretary Belinda Nwodo of Adcax Corporate Services Limited; Peter Olaitan Asemah, Partner at Kreston Pedabo; and Omotoke Adebakin, Manager at Kreston Pedabo, among others.

WIMBIZ Executive Director Omowunmi Akingbohungbe pointed out that the session not only marked celebration of shared accomplishments but also was a venue to build upon collaboration and promote the mission of the organization to advance women into leadership.

She said, "WIMBIZ has continued to break barriers, raise women's voices, and expand its international reach over the last year through strategic plans, advocacy, and effective partnerships. The AGM highlighted these achievements and provided opportunities for constructive interaction with our members—who are key to our sustained success."

The AGM also featured the presentation of the Audited Financial Statements, which testified to WIMBIZ's compliance with global financial reporting standards and prudent financial management. African in roots but international in focus, WIMBIZ is committed to linking and inspiring women globally to help them ascend into leadership positions and make significant contributions towards nation-building. The organization, with a 24-year track record of making a difference, continues to provide programs that advance women's representation in the public and private sectors.

"We continue to stand in our commitment to empowering, enabling, and inspiring women leaders through fearless initiatives, inclusive opportunities, and enduring partnerships," Omowunmi declared.
