Women at AI (WAI), the international organization Non-profit that aims to build an inclusive future of artificial intelligence gender, welcomed the Northern Ireland businesswoman Naomh McHaltton as her latest ambassador in Ireland.
A pioneering businesswoman and dynamic women in technology lawyer, Naomh has over 20 years of experience working on digital innovation, education and business.
By assuming this new role, it will conduct programs that will enable women from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to succeed in the AI and data industries.
In her role as an ambassador, Naomh will focus on the construction of networks, inspiring girls and women to follow paths and promote more diversity and inclusion in research, education and job market. It will also work together with academic institutions, industry leaders and policy formulators to build a more inclusive AI ecosystem on the entire Ireland Island.
"I'm so excited to assume this role as women at AI, ambassador of Ireland," said Naomh. "Artificial intelligence is transforming all parts of society, and it is important that women are not just on the table, but they also play a leadership role in the formation of the future of this technology.
I look forward to working with women and allies across the island to build a successful and successful AI community."
Established as a basic movement, women in AI have now become a worldwide movement of over 18,000 members from over 150 countries that offer guidance, learning and joint programs to fill gender gap in AI.
Naomh is already strongly invested in the industry as a business leader for women in AI, Stem ambassador and associate professor at Ulster University.
She is also on the University of Queen's Belfast Student Union and Young Social Innovators, with NBS biodiversity start-up chairing. She was awarded Northern Ireland's Most Inspirational Woman in STEM in 2024.
She is also a founder of The She Said Club, an initiative for women's wellbeing, mentorship, and empowerment in communities.
Posting on social media, Naomh wrote about the appointment as "a very proud moment" and said:
"After a few amazing years as an entrepreneurial leadership, today I start a new journey as Irish Ambassador to Women in AI. It is a privilege and an honor to take on this role, and I look forward to forging new collaborations and programs throughout Ireland".
