The Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation has named the Class of 2025 recipients of scholarships, a key milestone in awarding over $1 million in scholarships since the organization's inception in 2017.
Continuing on lines of education, leadership, and professional development, the Foundation has granted 34 scholarships to women from 14 countries under its global scholarship program for this year.
The scholarship targets the woman who would choose the career in food, wine, spirits, beer, and hospitality industries.
The Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation is the charitable arm of Women of the Vine & Spirits, an international membership-based organization for women and men who work towards the advancement of women in the alcohol and alternative beverages industry. In 2025, Women of the Vine & Spirits will mark their decennary or 10-year anniversary year.
The leadership of the Foundation recognizes that the fact that it has broken the $1 million barrier with regard to scholarship funding is testament to the support that the Foundation has from its global community. A cumulative total of 407 scholarships have been offered since the year 2017.
The scholarship for the year 2025 was supported by generous sponsors who were categorized based on their level of contributions, which included levels such as ‘Advocate,’ ‘Benefactor,’ ‘Affiliate,’ in addition to sponsors. The organizations that supported the scholarship by donating towards it also included business organizations.
Among the recipients of the awards in the Class of 2025 are individuals across different categories of awards, for example, Continuing and Professional Education, WSET Levels 1 to 4, and leadership training offered by the DISCUS Academy. Some of the regions of the recipients include North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
The oversight of the programs implemented by the Foundation is conducted by its board and committees. Moving forward, the Foundation has already expressed its plans to continue raising funds for scholarship award programs in 2026 and beyond.
