The World Bank highlights women smallholders, farmers and agribusinesses as central partners in building and renewing Liberia’s growth journey. Empowering local communities, strengthening livelihoods, and creating equal opportunities are essential to driving sustainable and inclusive growth.
A visit to the cassava fields at Bensonville, Destiny Women Incorporated highlighted the vital role women-led enterprises play in advancing food security and inclusive development. World Bank VP Lisa Rosen praised the resolve of Liberian women farmers, recognizing their crucial role in driving agricultural growth.
“It is amazing not to come to the countryside to meet you and all of the incredible work that you do to put food on the table for yourselves, for the country, and for the future of your children. We are very grateful to be partnering with Destiny’s Women and with the Ministry here in Liberia, to build a better future together”, commented Lisa Rosen.
Destiny Women Incorporated has become a trailblazer among Liberia’s women-led agribusinesses cooperatives. Impressive portfolio of cassava products including gari, super gari, fufu, starch, and more, create both economic opportunity and community nourishment.
