Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson is the first African American woman to acquire a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), well-known for inventing Caller ID and Call Waiting. During her years at AT&T Bell Labs, she came up with this advanced technology which transformed the information technology industry.

This concept provided an option to the users to screen and manage calls, upgrading experience and privacy.
