Could you walk us through your educational & professional background?
I studied informatics in the early 80s, and my first job was with a major multinational company--IBM. My time there broadened my perspective on the transformative power of technology, igniting a passion for the limitless potential it holds. Through the high-level training I received, I gained insights that were unique at the time, setting me apart in a field still new to many. This experience instilled in me a lasting commitment to continuous learning and development, both for myself and my team, as we aim for excellence in all we do. I've always made it a priority to keep an eye on the future, staying open to new possibilities.
Can you walk us through the formative years of your life? What were some key early influences that helped shape who you are today?
Over the last 25 years, many experiences have shaped and prepared me for my career as a real estate agent. Initially, I was one of many agents in the Italian market, but my dedication to beauty, and art, and a commitment to expanding internationally set me apart. This journey ultimately led me to join the Forbes Global Properties brand, which I discovered in December 2021. I was immediately drawn to their vision, values, and the high level of professionalism of its members. It felt like a perfect match, as we all strive to provide exceptional service standards to our clients within this global network.
What inspired you to create Building Heritage? Could you share the core idea behind this venture & highlight its main areas of expertise?
Building Heritage, my company, operates as more of a consultancy. In Italy, buying, selling, or investing in real estate is an exciting opportunity, but the process can be challenging due to complex bureaucracy. Our mission is to guide investors and buyers through every step, smoothing out any obstacles so they can enjoy a seamless experience. Our team includes legal experts, notaries, senior agents fluent in multiple languages, architects, renovation specialists, movers, decorators, and furnishing experts. Additionally, we have tax specialists to assist clients seeking Italy's flat tax incentives or residency permits. This comprehensive support truly sets us apart from typical real estate agencies.

As the Founder & CEO of Building Heritage, what are your main roles & responsibilities? What key areas do you focus on to drive the company's growth?
I oversee marketing, manage all my agents, monitor financial performance, and ensure daily operations run smoothly. A key part of my role is placing the right people in the right positions, and creating a truly cohesive team where everyone excels in their roles. Selecting the right talent is critical. We're constantly looking to the future and staying attuned to trends. In Italy's luxury real estate market, clients seek not only property but a full Italian experience. To meet this demand, we're expanding our services to include short-term rentals and concierge services, offering guests an immersive journey with Italian flavours, culture, and accommodations.
Could you shed some light on the main challenges you face in your current role? How do you work to overcome these obstacles?
One of the biggest challenges we face in Italy is dealing with the bureaucracy involved in transactions. To overcome this, we rely on a team of experts who can navigate through any obstacles. We have a network of lawyers, architects, and specialists who are crucial in managing the complex procedures. Without this support, it would be difficult to push through the bureaucratic hurdles. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and simple as possible for our clients, ensuring they don't have to deal with the issues directly. They can trust that everything will be taken care of, and the outcome will be positive.
How do you see the real estate & construction sectors in Europe evolving in the near future? What key trends do you expect to emerge in the industry?
In Europe, new real estate markets are emerging, particularly in places like Croatia, Spain, and Albania, which are becoming competitors. Croatia is known for its coastal beauty and modernity, Spain for its lifestyle, and Albania for its rapid construction growth. However, none of these can rival Italy's rich history, style, traditions, food, and wine. Our buildings are living pieces of history, each one telling a unique story. In Italy, you can truly live a dream, and I believe Italy will always be a place to cherish and belong.
