2025 World Women Economic & Business Summit Gathers Global Leaders in Kuala Lumpur

• Changemakers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and legislators were among those in attendance  
• The primary objectives of the summit were to progress women's roles in leadership, innovation, and economic development 

The 2025 World Women Economic and Business Summit (WWEBS) converged more than 200 VIP participants — policymakers, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and changemakers in one — at the Kuala Lumpur Seri Pacific Hotel. Themed "Transforming Tomorrow: Women Leading in a Digital, Sustainable and Inclusive Future," the summit recognized the important role women play in the construction of a more inclusive, sustainable, and technology-enabled future.  

Since its inception in 2022, WWEBS has grown to become a prominent platform within the Asia-Pacific region facilitating women's leadership in business and economic development. This year's edition included a color-filled plenary session lineup, interactive workshops, a fireside chat with female leaders and ambassadors, and an awards ceremony celebrating exceptional contributions by women in business.  

Opening addresses were given by WWEBS Organising Committee Chair Datuk Halimah Mohd Said, as well as virtual messages from UN Under-Secretary-General Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana and Thailand's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari, who both stressed the significance of women's leadership in shaping sustainable innovation and inclusive growth. 

The agenda of the summit comprised of sessions on digital leadership and AI, climate action and the green economy, and global health security, with most prominent voices like Dr. H.C. Cristina Amor Maclang, Oranuch Lerdsuwankij, Datuk Zunaidah Idris, and Dr. Revati Phalkey contributing worthwhile insights.  

A riveting workshop called "The Power of Arts in Business" by Brian Cracknell promoted innovative thinking about leadership and impact. Fireside Chat included Nineta Barbulescu, Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, and Chong Chye Neo on a conversation about diplomacy, innovation, and policymaking for all, and was moderated by Josephine Romero. 

KSI President Tan Sri Michael Yeoh wrapped up the summit by assuring that WWEBS is not just a conference — it is a movement to amplify women's voices, honor their leadership, and drive a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future driven by women.
