Female business leaders in the Middle East are turning global uncertainty into opportunity, with 78% confident in their companies’ growth over the next three years, according to KPMG’s Middle East Female Leaders Outlook 2025: “A Call for Clarity.”

Despite 65% reporting gender bias in the past three years, women executives are redefining leadership through empathy, resilience, and strategic collaboration. Government initiatives are accelerating progress: in the UAE, women make up 70% of university graduates and 56% of STEM graduates; in Saudi Arabia, female labor force participation reached 36.3%, exceeding Vision 2030 targets; and Oman continues expanding women’s representation in diplomacy and international organizations.

The study also identifies gaps in corporate strategy. Nearly half of respondents (49%) want clearer plans for AI and ESG. While 44% cite AI as a top investment priority, uncertainty remains about its application, though 62% see efficiency and productivity benefits. ESG adoption is growing, yet one-third are unsure if their organizations will meet net-zero goals by 2030.

Human capital remains a focus, with 60% investing more in people than technology, highlighting a human-centric approach. However, challenges persist: 49% reported a rise in online harassment and cyberbullying in the past three years.

Kholoud Moussa, Partner at KPMG Middle East, noted: “Women leaders are showing that resilience and clarity move together. Meaningful progress depends on clear corporate priorities across AI, ESG, and people investment.”

Looking ahead, 74% believe gender equity in the C-suite would help meet growth targets, emphasizing mentorship and leadership programs over quotas, reinforcing women’s role as both growth drivers and advocates for inclusive, purpose-driven corporate cultures.
