Geena Davis, an Academy Award-winning actress, writer, and advocate for gender equality, will deliver the keynote address at the Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) conference on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Gaylord National in Washington, DC. She will take part in an interactive discussion, titled "From Polite to Powerful: Redefining Success for Women, and Role Modeling Authenticity over Approval."
She has a reputation for being calm, having thoughtful reasoning, and also having a powerful voice. Geena has built her career-defining legacy through the rejection of perfectionism, finding her own voice, and no longer allowing outdated definitions of women leaders’ success and power to define her. Davis's boldness and compelling narrative provide for extremely powerful authenticity as a voice for WIPL's network of women in the law.
We are delighted to have Geena Davis join the Women, Influence & Power in Law stage, commented Jennifer Turney, Vice President & Global Event Director, ALM Global. Both as a storyteller and gender parity leader, her work reflect the WIPL mission: inspiring women to lead with influence, purpose, and integrity.
The 2025 WIPL conference will gather leading women lawyers for three days of leadership learning, networking, and honest exchange on the obstacles and opportunities for women in the law. The agenda will include sessions on data privacy, AI, and regulatory developments, as well as panels on professional development, personal wellness, and developing the next generation of women leaders.
