The African CleanUp Initiative (ACI), in partnership with CSR-in-Action Advocacy, has revealed the Women SDG Advocates Conference (WSAC) 2026. The theme of the event is ‘Give to Gain: Empowering Women Through Shared Action.’
The conference will be a hybrid event and will take place on 11 March 2026. The venue is The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Commerce House, Lagos. The event will bring together over 200 women leaders harnessing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in communities, businesses, and the public sector.
Also, the organisers have announced the establishment of the Conference Committee that will be responsible for strategic oversight and stakeholder engagement leading up to the event. The committee is co-chaired by Dr. Bekeme Masade-Olowola, Group Chief Executive of CSR-in-Action, and Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria. Other members are Titilope Oguntuga, Director of Sustainability at IHS Towers, and Bukola Adeoye, Executive Director, Corporate Services, SystemSpecs Holdings Limited.
By positioning itself as a high-level strategic convening, WSAC 2026 will bring together women leaders, entrepreneurs, civil society actors, development practitioners and corporate stakeholders who are deeply committed to accelerating SDG implementation. Held in conjunction with the International Women's Day 2026 celebrations, the conference aims to be a source of energy for new partnerships, a catalyst of shared responsibility and a platform for promoting scalable, measurable solutions.
The theme embodies the importance of collaboration, emphasising how the combined efforts of many can elevate voices, create stronger results and lead to significant changes for women and communities.
Alexander Akhigbe, founder and CEO of ACI, called the move a smart step towards sustainable development. “Empowering women is not charity; it is a global strategy for sustainable development. When women SDG advocates rise together, they unlock opportunities that transform communities and nations,” he added.
The event will be opened with keynote speeches and further proceed with panel discussions, spotlight sessions and workshops on the themes of accessing funds, creating partnerships, advocacy, digital innovation and measuring impact. Moreover, networking opportunities and partnership clinics will be available to facilitate collaboration and accountability.
