Amanda Gardiner Becomes Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network USA

After a unanimous vote by its Board of Directors, Amanda Gardiner has been named Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network USA, the U.S. branch of the largest corporate sustainability program in the world.

Amanda is a leader with over two decades of experience in sustainability and social impact. Her most recent position was as Meta's first Head of ESG, where she created strategic initiatives at a pivotal juncture for the tech industry. She previously served in senior corporate responsibility positions at Pearson and Verizon, where she advised executive boards on how to incorporate social impact and sustainability into corporate operations.

"Amanda's experience, strategic vision, and collaborative style make her the perfect leader to guide Network USA into its next stage of expansion and greater stakeholder engagement," said Ann Tracy, the chair of the Network USA board and the chief sustainability officer at Colgate-Palmolive.

With nearly 1,000 American companies and organizations now participating, representing over 18% of the country's GDP, Network USA has significantly increased its reach and impact. In order to further the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, Gardiner's appointment ushers in a new era focused on expanding program services and strengthening ties with the US private sector.

In this critical period for sustainable business, Network USA is vital in assisting American companies in navigating a rapidly changing global environment, according to Gardiner.
