Visa has revealed the appointment of Aminata Kane as Senior Vice President and Head of Western and Central Africa, to be effective September 4, 2025. From Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, Aminata will head Visa's newly created sub-regional team, encompassing 23 markets across four major offices in Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa, and Lagos.
Kane is a well-known digital financial services and telecommunications leader with more than ten years of executive history from Orange's businesses in the Middle East and Africa. She was most recently Regional Chief Executive Officer at Orange Money Group, responsible for Orange Money and Orange Bank Africa offerings in 17 countries.
A passionate voice for inclusive development, Kane has promoted programs empowering young people and women through technology, creating the Orange Foundation and the Orange Digital Center in Sierra Leone, both focused on leadership development and enabling individuals with necessary digital capabilities for the future
The Regional President of Visa for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Andrew Torre said in a statement, “Aminata’s leadership and deep expertise in digital financial services will be instrumental in driving Visa’s mission to expand financial inclusion across Western and Central Africa. Kane started her career at Goldman Sachs, later becoming a consultant in Paris for McKinsey & Company, where she gained rich experience in financial strategy, transformation, and market growth. With an excellent academic background from HEC Paris and the MIT Sloan School of Management, she is identified as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has recently been listed among the Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa.
