Ana Stewart's Pathways Pledge programme has seen its fifth intake of pledgers, which include the University of Edinburgh, BGF, Mint Ventures, and Firstport. All these stakeholders have pledged to take some affirmative steps toward ease of gender parity in business.
Their commitments are to host events to promote awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in entrepreneurship, to gather data to feed into evidence-based interventions, to bring more women into public speaking and panel events, and to establish a network of female investors for Scotland.
Moreover, current partners—AccelerateHER, Eos, and CodeBase—had finished their first year of participation and pledged to a second year with new promises. These are implementing innovative partner leave policies, establishing a focused growth lab for women entrepreneurs, providing unconscious bias training, building new partnerships, and taking secondary school students through entrepreneurship activities in order to spark the next generation of leaders.
Pathways forward founder Ana, recently appointed as Scotland’s Chief Entrepreneur, described the Pledge as a core pillar of the initiative’s broader mission. She emphasised the importance of unified action, stating, “The Pledge initiative is a key pillar of Pathways Forward and we’re motivated to see its continued growth. Our focus is on consolidating efforts across the ecosystem to drive change through collaboration, with each organisation contributing its share to achieve a greater collective impact.”
Looking forward, Pathways Forward has designated the below update to its ‘Female Founders Growth Summit’ its next event on 16 September at RBS Gogarburn conference centre. The summit will be presented in partnership with Female Founders Rise, Buy Women Built, ScaleUp Institute, and SuperScalers.
For Ana, the event will include a high-impact combination of keynote talks, interactive workshops, peer-to-peer networking, and carefully selected investor introductions. "By operating with organisations throughout the UK," she went on, "we're ensuring participants leave the summit enthused and armed with useful know-how to drive their businesses forward with confidence and sustainability."
