On May 8, Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors recognized Atlantic Business & Professional Women for 90 years of empowering local professionals and driving community engagement.

Founded in 1935, the Atlantic Business & Professional Women (BPW) chapter stands as lowa’s largest, boasting 33 active members. The chapter welcomes both women and men across all career stages and employment types, hosting monthly meetings every third Wednesday, excluding July and August.

As part of the national BPW network established in 1919, the organization is committed to advancing women’s professional development through education, advocacy, and community support. During a recent address, President Jolene Roecker underscored the Atlantic BPW’s commitment to giving back, powered by proceeds from their annual Craft Fair. The organization has consistently funded key local efforts, including fire and police departments, EMTs, Little League, school lunches, and emerging leadership programs.

The Atlantic Business & Professional Women organization champions community impact through sustained volunteerism and strategic fundraising. Its annual Craft Fair, a 53-year tradition, generates funding for local projects and scholarships, benefiting area students across academic and vocational disciplines. Complementing these efforts, the lowa BPW Foundation supports adult learners through scholarships designed to advance business and professional careers.
