A Bahrain’s delegation led by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), joined the summit which themed on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women held in Saudi Arabia.
The summit was under the title “New Era for Business: Partnering for Global Prosperity,” and it was the very first international event for Fortune in the Middle East. For two consecutive days, female executives from the region and from all over the globe flocked to the region to observe emerging centers of business activity and examine the case advocating the need for public-private partnerships, focused on fostering innovation and sustainable growth.
The delegation of Bahrain included pioneers such as Rana Ebrahim Faqihi, the CEO of The National Bureau of Revenue, Sara Ahmed Buhejji, the CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and Hala Ali Yateem, Chairwoman of the National Bank of Bahrain.
Minister Noor bint Ali delivered a speech at a fireside chat session entitled "MPW Spotlight: Bahrain's Path to Economic Transformation," during which she explained the progress achieved by The Kingdom in terms of economic diversification and expansion. She expounded on the focus on driving innovative and sustainable investment, creating an entrepreneurial culture, an active labor force, and responsive human capital.
Hala Yateem participated with a session entitled Driving Growth and Innovation in a Changing World with emphasis on the financial services landscape and how it constructs and reinvents itself, highlighting the importance of agility, flexibility, and proactiveness in times of economic turmoil. Bahrain’s all-female delegation having attended the closed-door conference highlights Women Empowerment in the Kingdom as well as the nation’s belief of women being economic movers and shakers.
