The Bayer Foundation Women Entrepreneurs Award offers an accelerator program for six months that supports female entrepreneurs creating impactful solutions for healthcare and food security.
The Award will select 15 ventures located in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East and focus on building business fundamentals and preparing them to reach prospective investors.
The program has a health focus on cardiovascular health, women's health, oncology, healthcare payment options, and community health infrastructure; however, food security focuses on reducing food waste, addressing malnutrition, promoting equitable marketplaces, increasing the production of smallholder farmers, and improving access to clean water and sanitation.
To qualify for this program, applicants must be female founders, co-founders, or senior leaders who are involved in decision-making for a company that has measurable traction and annual revenues of less than $1,000,000.
Companies must solve one of the significant health-related issues or one of the above food-related issues. Companies must also operate as a social enterprise, hybrid business model, or a non-profit preparing to launch as a for-profit.
Eligible applicants will receive six months of customized support, €25,000 in non-dilutive funding, international access to recognition for the Award (including travel to Amsterdam for the Award Ceremony), and connection to the women-led alumni network. Eligible applicants will also gain access to the Impact Hub global network for additional scaling opportunities.
