Bente Krogmann Takes Charge as bolttech's Africa GM

Bente Krogmann has joined Bolttech as General Manager, Africa, building on her extensive experience as a business and insurtech leader. With the promotion, she will be responsible for expanding her role from managing bolttech's operations in Kenya to managing its African business, while also helping to improve interaction between its operations in East and South Africa, and to assist with the region’s growth.

Bente’s new leadership comes following her appointment as the General Manager, Kenya in December 2025. There, she guided the business development, Insurance Technology, Commercial Strategy, Sales and expansion of the business in Kenya and East Africa. In July 2026, she was promoted to become the General Manager, Africa of the organization, as part of her increasing responsibilities.

As part of her new role, Bente will be collaborating with market leaders and teams throughout Africa and with bolttech's Group and EMEA leadership to increase connectivity between the different parts of its African business. Her role will be to blend local market expertise, develop and nurture current partnerships, uncover new business opportunities and provide more effective commercial delivery from Africa.

The addition rounds off Bente’s leadership journey in the dynamic insurance technology landscape in Africa. Prior to her move to bolttech, she served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of mTek Services for almost seven years, during which time she was instrumental in the growth of the company's InsurTech platform. While working at mTek Services, she gained a significant amount of experience in digital insurance, entrepreneurship, strategic growth and customer and business trends in Africa.

She also demonstrates a solid blend of strategic leadership, sales, business development, market growth and entrepreneurship in her professional life. Previously, Bente was the Business Development Director – Project Division at Alibhai Shariff & Sons, as well as Head of Sales at Wagner Möbel Manufaktur. She also worked as Head of Strategy and Sales Export Manager for Achelis Group.

In all these positions she has gained professional opportunities in Kenya and Tanzania as well as other markets across Africa and Europe. This international exposure has given her a grasp of the various business contexts, customer needs, commercial frameworks and market development strategies.

As a board member, Bente adds a hand to business governance and strategic development. She is currently a Board Member for Symbastone Group and a NonExecutive Board Member for Extreme Clean Carwash Kenya. These roles bring her with a wealth of experience in governance, organizational strategy, business development and value creation over the long-term.

Bente’s  new role is the latest move to underscore the critical role of women leaders in Africa's technology and financial services industries. Her career spans executive management and entrepreneurship, global business experience, strategic decision making and board level roles, making her a seasoned female leader in the changing insurtech and digital economy environment within the region.

In her new role, Bente will be tasked with building deeper links between the African markets of bolttech and learning from local expertise and partnerships. Her leadership will additionally help to recognize chances for commercial expansion, regional partnership, innovation, and sustainable business development on the continent.
