  • Brenntag has launched an extension of its worldwide alliance with Women in Chemicals (WIC), effective 2026
  • The partnership is an extension of an existing partnership between the two entities
  • The program is concerned with enhancing gender equity within the chemical industry

Brenntag, a global distributor of chemical ingredients, has declared a further extension of its global partnership agreement with Women in Chemicals (WIC), which will become active as of 2026.

Following this agreement, both WIC and Brenntag will collaborate to enhance gender equality within the chemical industry.

The new extension in the partnership will look at the opportunities that will help in the development of the partnership between Brenntag and Women in Chemicals to grow in many aspects, including developing the opportunity for the association of the staff of Brenntag and WIC members.

Since the inception of WIC in 2021, Brenntag and WIC have teamed up for a series of conferences, regional collaborations, and industry events aimed at growing the number of women who are part of the chemical industry.

Wittl stated, "This new partnership would give us even more support as an organization, as well as our mission of creating a career community for women in this industry, supporting each other, as well as the opportunities for our women to expand through networking. We can achieve this with the help of partnership with Brenntag."

Brenntag explained that the amplified sponsorship is a reflection of the existing level of engagement the company currently has in the community of WIC, as well as its dedication to the creation of a more inclusive industry. Over 500 people from Brenntag are currently involved in WIC.

Francis Bracke-Schröder, the Chief Human Resources Officer at the Brenntag Group, stated that this expanded sponsorship will further the relationship between the two entities and further the engagement of the workforce around the world while increasing inclusion, development, and equality for women within the chemical industry.

The new partnership will see Brenntag remain the official title sponsor of the Women in Chemicals Annual Conference. They will also continue to have a joint presence at industry events like AFPM and EPCA. Additionally, Brenntag will assume a new role as a title corporate sponsor beginning 2026.
