CIC Group & Women's World Banking Drive Inclusive Insurance for Women in Africa

CIC Group joins forces with Women’s World Banking (WWB) to expand gender-responsive insurance offerings in underserved markets. The partnership aims to scale innovative, inclusive insurance solutions that empower women economically and protect long-term wellbeing.

The initiative will integrate research, product innovation, and strategic outreach to empower Kenyan women entrepreneurs with better insurance coverage and financial knowledge.  Speaking at the partnership event, CIC Group Managing Director Patrick Nyaga reaffirmed the company’s role in advancing social impact, noting that building stronger communities starts with inclusive coverage across all segments.

With a strong legacy in microinsurance, CIC has utilized cooperative and community-based models to expand access and serve underserved population across the region. The alliance underscores the progress made in gender-focused innovation, supporting scalable insurance solutions that foster resilience and inclusion.

Through direct feedback and continuous user interaction, the alliance will drive the development of agile, needs-based insurance offerings that reflect that real challenges faced by underserved women, with a focus on resilience against health and income-related vulnerabilities. As a cooperative insurance leader, CIC sees this partnership as a pathway to expand access and deliver tailored health solutions for underserved communities.
