On the 18th, CJ Group announced its regular executive appointments and promoted 40 new management leaders, which is nearly twice as many as last year.
The group said the selection was to support its midterm strategy of strengthening future and global growth; the appointments complete the executive lineup across affiliates following the CEO appointments in October.
This year's promotions put a high value on young talent: five in their 30s, including two women leaders aged 36, were promoted and 45 percent of the total born in or after the 1980s. The group promotes next-generation leaders in its businesses to expedite innovation and future-oriented growth.
The group also emphasized its commitment to fostering women leaders. Eleven women, taking 27.5 percent, went up the ladder into management and increased the overall share of women executives in the group from 16 percent to 19 percent.
In Olive Young, where women represent a big customer base, women make up 54 percent of executives, while the commerce division's has risen to 46 percent.
Promotions were also given to experts in artificial intelligence, data, and global business, irrespective of their age or rank, as part of strengthening the group's capability for long-term expansion.
An official of CJ Group explained that each affiliate CEO selected capable leaders to lead change and innovation, and the group will continue to provide opportunities for ambitious young employees to take on new challenges that contribute to both the midterm strategy and future preparedness.
It also defines the important functions of the holding company, which includes the Portfolio Strategy Group, the Future Planning Group, the Strategy Support Group, the Compliance Support Group, and the HR Group.
In this regard, CJ endeavors to enhance internal cooperation, create synergies, and move a step further in terms of business structure optimization and long-term growth.
