Deloitte Thailand has announced its new Board-Ready Women Program which aims to help aspiring female board members gain the knowledge, networks and confidence to enter boardroom roles across Thailand.
This is the first edition of the invite-only program, which will take place from May to August 2026. It is a gathering of senior directors, regulators, and business leaders that will lead participants through the changing expectations of board leaders — from the basics of governance to the responsibilities of fiduciary duty, personal branding, cybersecurity, and AI governance.
The proportion of women in senior executive positions in Thailand has an unequal history with gender representation on boards. According to the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative 2026 report, women hold only 20% of the seats in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) compared with the Asian average of 18%.
“Boards today are navigating a more complex landscape than ever before — from digital disruption and shifting geopolitical dynamics to heightened scrutiny on governance and accountability. Diversity of experience and perspective is not just a principle we believe in; it is a strategic necessity for boards that want to lead effectively. This program is our commitment to developing the next generation of women leaders who are ready to take their seat at the table,” said Dr. Metinee Jongsaliswang, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Thailand & Laos and board member for Deloitte Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific.
The speakers for this year's program are the most prestigious and influential speakers in the country, carefully chosen from Thailand's best and most respected institutions. This will include senior executives and thought-leaders from influential companies, as well as the leaders of the Thai Institute of Directors and the SET.
Key Highlights:
This synergy of expertise provides not only knowledge but also a wide range of views at the highest level of leadership and governance. This program will be a valuable forum for knowledge sharing, future thinking and meaningful networking with those who are driving the business environment forward in Thailand.
“Thailand has made real progress in developing women leaders across its corporate sector, but boardroom representation remains an area where we can and must do more. Talent has no gender boundaries, and diverse boards are better equipped to meet today’s changing expectations placed on boards. Programs like this play an important role in building a path to the boardroom for the next generation of directors,” said Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Chairperson of the Board, Kasikornbank Public Company Limited.
“The Thai Institute of Directors has long championed the view that good governance begins with well-prepared directors. When boards invest in the quality and diversity of their composition, they make better decisions, ask harder questions, and build more resilient organizations. This program addresses a real gap in the landscape in supporting aspiring directors. Expanding the pipeline of board-ready women can help us to meet the expectations of regulators, investors, and the public alike,” said Dr. Kulpatra Sirodom, Honorary Chair, Thai Institute of Directors Association.
The Board-Ready Women Program is part of the Deloitte Southeast Asia Boardroom Program. The Deloitte Boardroom Program is designed to tackle the key governance issues of the 21st century, and provide boards and senior C-Suite leaders with resources, tools, and know-how to help them navigate uncertainty in an evolving business environment.
“Over the past decade, the Board-Ready Women Program has grown in impact and presence across Southeast Asia, offering curated thought leadership and networking opportunities to participants. Now, we are excited to bring this program to Thailand to empower senior women executives to step into the boardroom and contribute to excellence in corporate governance with their unique perspectives,” said Seah Gek Choo, Boardroom Program Leader, Deloitte Southeast Asia.
