A new digital strategy under Women in Export (WiEX) 2025 seeks to strengthen the participation of women entrepreneurs in international markets. The inaugural forum rolled out two key tech-driven initiatives designed to enhance the international competitiveness of Malaysian women entrepreneurs.

The women Exporters e-Directory, introduced at the forum by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, aims to strengthen international outreach and buyer trust in Malaysian women-owned exporting firms.

MATRADE Chairman Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican announced the Madani Digital Trade (MDT) initiative, aiming to boost global competitiveness and achieve 30% engagement from women-owned businesses in export promotion efforts.

Framed by the theme ‘From Local to Global,’ the event welcomed 1,200 attendees and hosted five expert-led panels exploring brand positioning, digital leverage, and cross-border trade entry. The Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry formally declared that the initiative will return each year under its new title, Women International Exporters Expo, signaling sustained commitment to women’s export empowerment.
