Elizabeth McIntyre Appointed to Global WOO Board Role

Elizabeth McIntyre has been elected to the Board of the World Out Of Home Organization (WOO), reflecting the increasing international acknowledgment of Australia’s industry excellence. This also marks and bolsters the prominence of Australia within the global Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising landscape.

Elizabeth has been named one of the two new directors of the WOO Board, alongside Felipe Vianta who serves as the president of Brazil’s out-of-home advertising association.

Earlier on as Elizabeth took on her duties as Chief Executive Officer of Outdoor Media Association (OMA) and MOVE in April 2023, she became an integral aspect in shaping the future direction of the out-of-home advertisement industry.

This is attributed to her exceptional ability to blend visionary leadership and technical infrastructure, policy, and industry advocacy into a single comprehensive strategy. Under her leadership, the credibility of the platform has been improved to increase its global competitiveness. One of the notable achievements during this period has been the launching of MOVE 2.0 in March 2026.

Speaking on her selection Elizabeth stated that she is pleased to be joining at such an important juncture in the history of the out-of-home medium, one which is characterized by innovation, impact, and data-driven change.

Elizabeth shared that, “Out of home is evolving faster than ever, and Australia has an important role to play in that global conversation.”  "I’m particularly passionate about ensuring more women see a place for themselves in this industry. Representation matters, and I hope this appointment encourages more women to step forward, lead boldly and shape the future of out of home.”

Strongly emphasizing his support for these appointments, President of the World Out-of-Home Organization (WOO), Tom Goddard noted that, "WOO regularly rotates its board directors and we are very fortunate in being able to recruit such high-quality new members as Elizabeth and Felipe," "The WOO board now has a truly global reach, and this will be an important strength as we move forward."

OMA has witnessed considerable growth in terms of organizational capacity building and expansion during Elizabeth tenure, marked by the organization's membership hitting a high point of 60 companies. The company also launched of the "OUT There" series which takes a group of select top marketers and creatives on guided tours through some of the most innovative out-of-home advertising campaigns to delve into the creative minds behind them.

Collectively, these trends have contributed towards boosting industry involvement as well as improving the creativity and commercial success of the industry. Elizabeth has also been a great proponent of gender equality in the industry, always pushing for greater visibility, access, and leadership positions for women from all parts of the business. "I’m particularly passionate about ensuring more women see a place for themselves in this industry", she noted.

With the success in the three international awards and the innovation award received at the World Out of Home Congress, held in London, the news serves as yet another recognition of the innovative prowess that Australia has been exhibiting in the industry.
