Eva Solomon, Founder and CEO of Epic Races, was named the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women® Detroit Woman of Impact™ 2026. She secured the title by driving fundraising, awareness, and community engagement.
The recognition came in the wake of addressing the Cardio Vascular Diseases (CVD), the leading cause of death among women despite being largely preventable. The organization is the largest non-profit, non-governmental funder of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular research in the U.S.
Through Epic Races, Eva rolled out the, “Mile a Day Marathon Challenge,” that in turn engaged community to run a mile each day for 26 days, culminating on National Walking Day. The campaign generated funds while promoting sustained physical activity for promoting better health. The funds raised play a pivotal role in advancing the Association’s mission and long-term health impact.
The 2026 Detroit Woman of Impact competition brought together four nominees who, executed high-impact fundraising and awareness initiatives in support of the organization for over nine-weeks. The efforts enabled and rose funding for key initiatives spanning research, education, and community health programs designed to combat CVD. Through the initiative, the community leaders are driving progress in women’s heart health, for better, informed, and healthier life support and choices.
The participation also prioritized awareness-building around women’s heart health risks and equipped communities with essential skills like Hands-Only CPR. The Woman of Impact campaign, has spent over two decades advancing awareness and addressing women’s evolving heart health needs globally.
