Gap Inc. announces Maggie Gauger as Athleta's Global Brand President & CEO

• Gap Inc. has announced Athleta’s new Global Brand president and CEO.
• Maggie Gauger will be taking the new role, succeeding Chris Blakeslee.
• Her role will be effective from August 1, 2025.

Recently, Gap Inc. made an announcement regarding the appointment of Maggie Gauger to the position of company's Global Brand president and CEO of Athleta which will be effective from August 1, 2025.

Maggie will be replacing Chris Blakeslee, who is retiring from the position but will still continue to work with the company temporarily in the role of an advisor with intent towards ensuring a smooth transition.

In addition, Richard Dickson, the CEO of Gap Inc. said in a statement, “We are thrilled for Maggie Gauger to join as CEO of Athleta as we look to accelerate the brand's reinvigoration. Maggie blends proven business transformation capabilities, deep consumer centricity, product fluency, and a heartfelt commitment to empowering women and girls. This combination of skills and experiences will equip her to lead Athleta into its next chapter of growth - rooted in purpose, performance, and people.”

A seasoned leader in women's active sport and fashion, Maggie joins Athleta with more than two decades of leadership experience at Nike while most recently leading its North America Women's Business, where she was tasked with growing the business, brand affection along with customer affinity and acquisition across the significant active and athleisure consumer base.
