HAA Appoints First Kuwaiti WomHAA Apan Regional Director for MENA

  • Nadia Al-Zeabot was appointed by Harvard University as the first Kuwaiti woman to be a Regional Director for the Harvard Alumni Association HAA in the MENA region
  • It demonstrates Harvard's appreciation of capable female leaders in the region

 

Nadia Al-Zeabot was announced as the first Kuwaiti woman to hold the position of Regional Director on the Board of Directors for the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) for the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, by Harvard University, as a reflection of Harvard's recognition of accomplishment and high-achieving female leaders from that region, and also a recognition of global earrings of valuable contributions from Kuwaiti professionals and Arab women in general.

According to Nadia, this is an incredible accomplishment that measures not just a success for her, but for the forward movement of Kuwaiti and Arab women to show others that "competence, dedication, and hard work can open doors at the world's most prestigious institutions."

She added "Empowering women starts with believing that they can lead and make a difference! Kuwaiti women are presently active participants and contributors in determining the future, locally and internationally."

Additionally, Nadia serves as the President of the Harvard Alumni Club of Kuwait where she led cultural and academic enrichment activities.

During her leadership, the club has connected one another in Kuwait and across the region, providing opportunities for sharing knowledge and innovation.

According to Nadia, part of the role she accepted is to provide support for initiatives that connect alumni across the MENA region, research, and entrepreneurship while contributing positively to society.

She has a bachelor’s from Kuwait University and three master’s degrees from the University of Southern California (USC) in Geology, Business Administration, and Petroleum Engineering. She is also a graduate of Harvard Business School.

During her reflection, Nadia stated that the values Harvard provided throughout her experience have always been thinking about the world and acting responsibly.

She hopes her new role will inspire young people in Kuwait and the MENA region to seek excellence, perseverance, and knowledge wherever their professional career takes them.
