Indian Women in Enterprise Hosts TGIF Event in Philippines

• The occasion featured cultural and business-sharing between India and the Philippines

I-WE (Indian Women in Enterprise), a business operated by women to support their counterparts and foster more connected communities, just hosted its premier cultural and business festival, The Great Indian Fiesta (TGIF), in the Paseo de Roxas area of Ayala, Makati.

This year, women-owned exhibits, wellness and lifestyle, food and craft bazaars, music, dance, and art performances served as a backdrop to shared cultural experiences between the community of India and the Philippines.

This year TGIF's proceeds supported I-WE's Breast Cancer Screening Program, in line with a health initiative. The initiative provided free breast and cervical cancer screenings to over 1,000 women in Metro Manila and neighboring areas, such as Rizal, Marikina, Quezon City, and Pasay in 2024.

Organizers pointed out that the initiative brings entrepreneurship development together with enhanced access to health care services, and for TGIF 2025, the addition of health awareness and on-site screenings will be incorporated into the event.

I-WE Chairperson Priyalashmi Murugesan asserted that the fiesta was a cultural celebration and a public health initiative.

As for the people in charge of organizing TGIF 2024, there were over 3,000 participants made up of decision-makers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and influencers that framed the group as a platform for cross-cultural collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and women's empowerment.
