The Chairman of the Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI), speaking for the Board of Directors, has announced the appointment of Cindy Hostetler as the incoming President and CEO. Beginning in May 2025, Cindy will follow in the footsteps of Linda Thompson, who will retire on June 30, closing a remarkable tenure of 25 years of service and leadership. The move is seen as a thoughtful transition for continued momentum for leading JARI ahead.

With a rich background spanning more than 20 years, Cindy’s expertise spans over strategic planning, client management, and innovative program development. She has cultivated a wide network of industry partners and investors, helping position the region as a competitive destination for business. Her leadership has been pivotal in attracting international companies to the region’s flagship event, the Showcase for Commerce, elevating its profile on the global stage.

Cindy has built a strong reputation in international marketing and business development. Her recent role as Senior Manager of Business Attraction and Retention at the Pennsylvania Office of International Business Development allowed her to lead transformative projects that delivered significant impact, over 2,500 new jobs and $610 million in capital investment across the state. Cindy holds as A.A. in Paralegal Studies from Harrisburg Area Community College (2000) and a B.A. in Communications and Business Marketing from Elizabethtown College (2004).

“I am both honored and excited to be joining JARI’s talented and dedicated team and continuing to drive impactful change within the community by uniting diverse stakeholders and fostering meaningful collaboration between businesses, communities, civic organizations, and policymakers and showcasing the assets of the region,” said Cindy “JARI has long been a trusted partner of the business community in Cambria and Somerset counties, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation established by Linda Thomson while contributing to the region’s continued success and economic growth.”

Jeff Stopko, Chairman of JARI, shared his strong support for the transition, emphasizing that Cindy’s extensive experience in business attraction and retention makes her an exceptional choice to lead JARI forward. He added that she will be a driving force with continued efforts to build a dynamic and inclusive regional economy.
